Amazing facts I have learned whilst researching/writing/ procrastinating this month

You know how it is you are working towards a deadline but your mind wonders and you find yourself googling the differences between morals and ethics, something you’ve never thought about before but absolutely need to learn about that very instance. These facts below are a result of similar scenarios over the past month and I am now feeling a little smug that I’ve found a way of turning my procrastinating into something vaguely productive!

  1. Neil Gaiman’s first book was a biography of Duran Duran, published in 1984
  2. There is specific insurance in Japan that covers getting a hole-in-one when playing golf as it has become tradition for the golfer who gets the hole-in-one to throw a party for their friends so players take out insurance to help cover the costs
  3. Hebdon Bridge, a small town in Yorkshire, has the highest proportion of lesbians in its population, anywhere in Europe
  4. 1 in 7 defectors from North Korea commit suicide
  5. The oldest individual tree in the world is 5,062 years old, a Pinus longaeva in the White Mountains of California
  6. It’s illegal to sell seaweed in the UK without a license, the first licence wasn’t issued until 2012
  7. In some states in America, including New York, it is illegal to sell a haunted house without telling the buyer



The photo was taken in New Orleans last year, and I have just spent a good chunk of time looking through my photos and remembering this amazing trip – which is another form of procrastination that I excel at…
